SPE BRAND GUIDELINES (work in progress)
In this instance, SPE logo
green was not bright enough effectively use
for the background. While SPE "logo green" is the "home base" color for this brand, variations can be used at the discretion of the designer to make the project work.
NOTE: Brandon Grotesque Medium is the key headline font (usually all caps) to tie designs to the new branding. For this look, Brandon Grotesque Medium is too thin and Brandon Grotesque Bold is too heavy, so Brandon Grotesque Medium should be used with a slight rule to thicken the font, This is not to say that this is the only font that can be used. As shown below, for events, etc., the use of expressive fonts could and should be used at the discretion of the designer to capture the spirit of the event with SPE's colors scheme maintaining brand discipline.
This is a quick exercise to show that the branding font recommendations are not a creative straightjacket. When appropriate, the designer can break away from Brandon Grotesque to express the "spirit" of the communication.
For example, for ANTEC, Brandon Grotesque does not express "technology" just as it doesn't visually voice the concept of a creative "mold breaker." As the designer's instincts deem appropriate, expressive fonts should be used with the logo and greens keeping the design within SPE's branding.
